Meet Flavia

A Lifelong Curiosity About Living Well

For Flavia, wellness has never been about following the latest trend or pursuing perfection. It’s about creating a life that feels vibrant, balanced, meaningful, and sustainable.

Her interest in nutrition, longevity, stress management, sleep, meditation, and healthy aging grew from a natural curiosity about how the choices we make each day can influence how we feel—not just today, but for years to come.

That curiosity became a passion for learning, and ultimately, a desire to help others take a more thoughtful and intentional approach to their own wellbeing.

Today, through Vital Life, Flavia brings together evidence-informed wellness education with a deeply personal, whole-person approach to help people build healthier habits and create lives that feel as good as they look.

Always Learning.

Always Growing.

Flavia received her Certification in Nutrition from Cornell University and completed three additional certifications through The Food Matters Institute. She continues to expand her knowledge through conferences and ongoing education focused on nutrition, longevity and healthy aging, stress management, sleep, and meditation.

As a speaker, Flavia frequently shares what she has learned with others, translating complex wellness topics into practical ideas people can realistically incorporate into everyday life.

Rooted in Connection

A longtime Greenville resident, Flavia has devoted much of her life to organizations that strengthen the arts, culture, education, philanthropy, and quality of life in her community.

She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Greenville County Museum, The Museum & Gallery, and the United Community Bank Foundation and was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to serve as a Commissioner of the South Carolina Arts Commission.

Her past leadership and volunteer service includes the United Way of Greenville County, Greenville Humane Society, Greenville Center for Creative Arts, Greenville Symphony Orchestra Association, Artisphere, Greenville County Museum Association, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate, and Greenville Women Giving.

For Flavia, giving back is a reminder that wellbeing is not only about what we do for ourselves, but also about how we participate in the world around us.

The Person Behind Vital Life

Flavia’s love of learning extends well beyond wellness. A native Portuguese speaker, she also speaks English, French, and Italian and has a lifelong appreciation for art, culture, travel, and the beauty found in everyday life.

She makes her home in Greenville, South Carolina, with her husband, Lynn Harton, Chairman and CEO of United Community Bank, and their two Australian Labradoodles, Winston and Teddy.

Whether she’s learning about the latest thinking in longevity, spending time in the garden, supporting the arts, traveling, or enjoying life with family and friends, Flavia tries to practice the same philosophy she shares through Vital Life:

A healthier life isn’t simply about living longer. It’s about living well.
